The luxury market is operated by cruise terminal J - facility made to look like a boutique. All passenger terminals offer cafes, check-in, shops, bars and cab ranks. Cargo shipping growth was attributed to the seaport's USD 1 billion investments in infrastructure improvements that allowed handling of Post-Panamax ships (with min draft 12 m / 40 ft). In 2018, the port handled over 250 such vessels, following a deep dredging project and the installation of Super Post-Panamax gantry cranes. What's striking about these low-priced sailings on MSC Seascape is that the ship is one of the newest and snazziest operating out of the Port of Miami, having just been unveiled in November 2022. Often, the lowest-cost cruises in any cruise port are on the oldest ships sailing from the port — vessels that don't have the latest and greatest when it comes to onboard attractions and amenities.

In Miami is also headquartered CMI-Cruise Management International and its subsidiary CMI Leisure (smaller-sized and expedition cruise ship management company). Since 2022, CMI is owned by Anglo-Eastern (1974-founded company that manages 600+ vessels/crew recruitment and management, technical services). In 2017 started discussions for turnaround operations by vessels of Virgin Voyages and NCL-Norwegian. However, Carnival Cruise Line remained the Port’s largest customer (2+ million passengers in 2017). PortMiami (locode URMIA) is currently ranked the world's second-largest cruise port (after Port Canaveral).

NCL terminal's construction officially started on April 26, 2018 (ground-breaking ceremony). The project was officially approved on April 10th, and works started on May 1st, with planned completion in Fall 2019. The new terminal building (nicknamed 'Crown of Miami') serves exclusively RCCL/RCG-Royal Caribbean Group-owned ships. In June 2016, PortMiami leased 10 acres (0,04 km2) of land to RCCL to build and exclusively operate a dedicated terminal. Here are also homeported two of RCI's largest liners - Allure of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas.

According to the MoU (memorandum of understanding) between Royal Caribbean and Miami-Dade County, the Terminal's completion date was July 31, 2018. RCCL was responsible for the Terminal's design and construction of the facilities (including parking garages with combined capacity 1000 vehicles).

If you're planning a solo cruise from Miami in the next couple years, you'll want to search for which vessel is scheduled to sail from Miami when you want to travel. All of the ships mentioned above are great for solos, but we put Norwegian Encore first among them because it's the newest. Of all Norwegian's ships, it has the widest array of onboard attractions including one of the longest go-kart tracks at sea, an epic, open-air laser tag course and a virtual reality play zone. The best cruises from Miami for solo travelers are those offered on Norwegian Cruise Line's 3,998-passenger Norwegian Encore, as well as its sister vessels, Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Escape. For years, the low-cost ships of Carnival Cruise Line were the go-to vessels for the best cruises out of Miami for budget travelers. But Carnival's Miami-based ships have had new competition for the title in recent years from the even-lower-cost vessels of MSC Cruises — a fast-growing line that has been taking the Miami market by storm.

Carnival adds an automatic service gratuity of $16 to $18 per person, per day to final bills, depending on the cabin category (children under the age of 2 are exempt). If you are unhappy with the service you receive, you can adjust this amount at the Guest Services desk before disembarking. Also, an 18% gratuity is added to bar bills and the cover charge of the Chef's Table.

It's not uncommon to find Carnival voyages to the Caribbean, Bahamas or Mexico starting well under $100 per person, per night including all taxes and fees — at least in the offseason. Nonalcoholic drinks in glass or plastic bottles are not allowed. Note that you'll be charged a $15 corkage fee if you want to bring the wine or Champagne to an onboard restaurant or bar to drink. Drinks brought on board must be carried in your carry-on luggage. Carnival allows you to bring one bottle of wine or Champagne per person onto ships at boarding plus up to a dozen standard cans or cartons of nonalcoholic drinks such as sodas.

Port Canaveral (Orlando), FL

Just do so more than 24 hours prior to sailing in order to get a full refund. Cancel on board and you'll be subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Tours canceled within 24 hours of arriving in that port are not eligible for any refunds. Alert the line at least four weeks before your sail date to request the credit. Once on board, you'll have free money to spend on drinks, specialty dining, shore excursions or souvenirs.

Carnival Credit Card

If you're in the market for a new card, apply for one before you book your vacation at sea and apply the cost of your cruise toward your minimum spend to earn the signup bonus. Carnival Cruise Line rewards servicemen and women with a military appreciation gathering on every sailing, a Heroes Tribute Lounge on select ships and military discounts on every cruise. Carnival's Early Saver fares offer some of the lowest base prices for cruises outside of special promotions. They also come with price protection should the rate drop on your sailing after you've booked. All vessels operate on a "cashless system," with any onboard purchases you make posting automatically to your onboard account.

Protect your vacation investment with insurance

If you can, make restaurant reservations online as soon as you can after booking your cruise. If not, get on the ship as early as possible and reserve your table as soon as you get on board. In addition, vessels offer extra-charge laundry and, on select ships, dry cleaning services.

Choose an early arrival time

While some perks may be delivered to your cabin (such as souvenir gifts and special event invites), others you may need to seek out. Read up on which perks you're eligible for and be sure to take advantage of the money-saving offers. Free bottled water and cocktails, a special chocolate dessert, complimentary laundry and free specialty dining are some of the perks you can enjoy when you gain higher tiers of status in Carnival's VIFP Club loyalty program.

All this said, we recommend checking Carnival's website before sailing for the very latest on requirements. On the vast majority of Carnival ships, there's not just a single waterslide but a whole water park area. Dubbed WaterWorks, these areas vary in size and features from vessel to vessel.

Most commonly asked questions can be answered by reviewing this section. If you are still unable to find what you are looking for, please contact us, and a Carnival representative will be happy to help you. Carnival Cruise Line, the world’s most popular cruise line, has won the 2023 Cruise Hive Award for Best Booking Experience, bringing in 31.03% of the total vote with nine cruise lines competing for the honor. There’s traditional Carnival fun too, and these fan-favorites are great news for everybody! Three age-perfect youth programs keep kids busy having a blast with their peers, while Playlist Productions™ take songs you know and make high-energy crowd-pleasing shows out of them.

How to Access Online Check-In

The doors are sometimes locked at night or in high winds, so try again later if you can't get through. Stop by the pool around breakfast time and you'll be amazed to find a different towel animal on every lounge chair, plus some extra-large critters huddled around the pools and hot tubs. Once per cruise, often on the last sea day, Carnival's room stewards really work their magic by "taking over" the pool deck with their towel animal creations. One of Carnival's best-included meals is the sea day brunch, offered all morning long on days with no port stops. Purchase a Wi-Fi plan, and you can text, browse the internet and post to social media.

However, you can buy your way into a better cruise experience with Carnival's Faster to the Fun program. Whether you use a travel agent or not, make sure to maximize your credit card points when paying for the cruise by using a credit card that offers extra points for travel purchases. This could be the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which offers 3 Ultimate Rewards points on travel and dining (excluding the annual $300 travel credit).

You learn so much on that first sailing that you may wish you could go back and get a do-over to maximize your time on board and ashore. Carnival Cruise Line's affordable rates and plethora of U.S. departures means it attracts a lot of first-time cruisers. No matter how much research you do, it's hard to be completely prepared to step onto a ship for the first time.

You'll find at least one of its ships sailing out of pretty much every major port city around the country. The arrival of Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration over the past two years has marked a major turning point for the line. At around 180,000 tons, they rank at No. 15 and No. 13, respectively, among the world's largest cruise ships — the only Carnival ships to crack the Top 20.

A Taylor Swift-themed cruise sets sail from Miami in 2024 Los Angeles Times

taylor swift carnival cruise

Prior to the Summer Era Cruise, Mariner of the Seas will be sailing on four to five-night cruises throughout the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas. “My goal is to spread her name and music by creating genuine, enjoyable activities that represent all her music stands for and the things she has done like the Eras tour,” says Parker, Landry’s daughter and cruise co-host. The cruise is meant to be the ultimate Swiftie experience for Taylor Swift’s followers, although the singer-songwriter will not be on board or appearing at any of the ports.

The 50 best Hollywood books of all time

Travelers can also join wine cruises, gluten-free cruises, genealogy cruises and culinary cruises hosted in partnership with the James Beard Foundation. According to the website, there is currently a waitlist for all three room options, which range from $1,500 to around $2,100. As of Nov. 15, Marvelous Mouse Travels posted that there are still rooms available but they’re now pulling from a waitlist.

CRUISE HIVE NEWSLETTER

Cruise prices start at $863.64 and are based on double occupancy rooms. The cruise, which is not endorsed by or affiliated with Swift, is hosted by travel agents Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera and Shelby Reyes. Travel agents Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera, and Shelby Reyes are hosting the event and say that there will be Swift-focused events each night of the cruise. Next year, die hard Swifties will be given the chance to set sail to the Bahamas for a four-night trip themed on the 'Cruel Summer' singer. As with any cruise, you will need to take into consideration what type of stateroom you want to sail in to budget appropriately. According to the agency page, balcony cabins are already sold out for the April Swiftie cruise.

It will take passengers on several stops across Baja California over four nights. Tickets run from $1,500 to nearly $2,000, according to the cruise’s website. The next day, Allure of the Seas will stop at Coco Cay, Royal Caribbean's private island. Guests will enjoy a final day at sea before arriving back at the Port of Miami.

The fan-led cruise, organized by Marvelous Mouse Travels, will take place aboard the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas. The four-night Bahamian cruise will depart from Miami on Oct. 21, 2024 — just one day after the superstar’s final Eras Tour show following a three-day stop in the 305. However, you won’t be spending every waking moment of your cruise doing group activities. On most group cruises, there are one or two daily planned events throughout the sailing. In this way, you can still find time to yourself onboard your cruise if you need to recharge your social battery.

It is a fan-sponsored event that is not endorsed or affiliated with Taylor Swift or TASRM. The Taylor Swift-themed cruise will sail to the western Caribbean, calling on Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, before returning to Galveston on June 20, 2024. In My Cruise Era: What You Need to Know About the Taylor Swift Cruise

In addition to performing sold-out shows on her record-breaking Eras Tour, the star has inspired everything from university courses to museum exhibitions. She’s such a prominent celebrity that one newspaper recently hired a full-time reporter to cover her social and cultural influence. During the cruise, participants will visit Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, as well as Nassau, the capital city of the islands. The departure date is set for Oct. 21, 2024, from Miami — conveniently scheduled one day after Swift concludes a three-show run in the city. However, we recommend you shake it off and keep your eyes peeled for future theme cruises.

I tried the newest ships from Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Norwegian. Here’s how they compare

At the time, Taylor Swift was planning to embark on her Speak Now tour following her third album release. The five-night Summer Era Cruise will sail from Galveston, Texas aboard Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas from June 15-20, 2024, stopping in Cozumel and Costa Maya. While the singer will not be on board (and is not affiliated with the cruise), the superfans organizing the trip promise a trip that’s packed with Swiftie Surprises. The ship will also host a seven-night Star Trek cruise to Curacao and Aruba beginning on February 22, 2024, followed by a seven-night 80s-themed cruise to the same destinations beginning on February 29, 2024. “We won’t just have a dance party; each activity will be based on a piece of her work or music, like Mirrorball, Lover, or bracelet making,” adds Parker.

For their themed getaway, the Taylor Swift fans of Quality Travel have chartered Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas. The Royal Caribbean cruise ship can accommodate 3,344 passengers and 1,185 crew members at maximum capacity. The event, which will leave port on October 21, 2024–the day after the Eras Tour wraps up–will have Taylor Swift-themed events as well as premium experiences. This cost includes a double room as well as the cost of food and non-alcoholic drink.

The title of the most successful tour to date is currently held by Elton John for his much-loved Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. As of August, the North American leg of the tour was set to gross a staggering $2.2 billion (£1.7bn). And the tour looks like it's on track to become the highest grossing tour of all time. The worldwide tour for the 'Blank Space' hitmaker began in March 2023 and is set to draw to a close in December 2024.

On Tuesday, the musician announced that she's added even more dates to her groundbreaking tour, with two additional 2024 shows at London's Wembley Stadium for Aug. 19 and 20 with opening act Paramore. Though Taylor Swift is affiliated with this event, it begs the question of whether or not her fans are willing to put aside their morals to experience this massive Taylor Swift event, even if she isn’t going to be there. Marvelous Mouse is the latest company aiming to cash in on the economic tidal waves that have followed Swift in each stop of her record-breaking Eras tour, which launched in March. On top of ticket sales, her tour has provided a major boost in revenue to local economies, including Los Angeles, from hotels to small businesses such as street vendors. Prices range from $1,573 for an interior room to $1,967 for an oceanview balcony. Anyone interested can complete a stateroom request form on the agency's website.

The “In My Cruise Era” is giving Taylor Swift fans a chance to celebrate their favorite popstar while traveling the high seas. The cruise, organized by Marvelous Mouse Travels, will set sail in October 2024. A few weeks ago, a travel agency unaffiliated with the popular singer announced the first Taylor Swift themed cruise, and it generated a lot of buzz. A travel agency is organizing more fan-led Taylor Swift group cruises, set to depart next summer. The cruise fare includes the cost for all of the onboard activities, as well as nightly dinner in the dining room and buffet and a la carte options throughout the ship. The cruise is a four-day expedition that will take members throughout the Bahamas on a Royal Caribbean ship and includes a host of Taylor Swift-themed activities for guests to participate in while at sea.

The cruise will feature all the makings of a Swiftie event, such as dressing up in Eras tour outfits and trading friendship bracelets, as well as karaoke, Swift trivia and dance parties. Just don’t expect Swift, or anyone close to her (yes, including Travis Kelce), to show up. At the time of this publication, the entire itinerary has not been released.

It was founded by Rebecca Landry, who is a self-identified Taylor Swift fan. Landry is co-hosting the cruise with her husband, Steve, her daughter, Parker, and sons Blake and Bryce – all of whom are fans. As climate change continues to impact our day-to-day lives, it’s important to recognize the effects that cruises have on the environment. Though the cruise industry is working to offset their impacts, there is still a lot of work to be done. In an article from Forbes, contributors note that Generation Z and Millennials are the most concerned about the impacts of climate change.

Made For You: A Personalized Mississippi River Cruise

Visit Baton Rouge, Oak Alley with its towering centuries-old oak trees, and Houmas House “Sugar Palace,” all without Louisiana. Mississippi River cruises are also offered on the upper portion of the river, which passes through the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. Most tour operators have contingency plans in place to handle the river’s changes.

Upper Mississippi River Cruises sail the area between St. Louis, Missouri and St. Paul, Minnesota. Lower Mississippi River Cruises sail from Memphis, Tennessee and New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to cruises directly on the Mississippi River, there are also cruises that explore its tributaries including the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. American Queen Voyages has new ships as well, but they are focusing on expedition cruise ship builds in the next few years, which will not be sailing on the Mississippi.

They also offer round-trip river cruises from New Orleans and a journey from St. Louis to St. Paul. American Cruise Lines offers a 5-day journey, which is perfect for those who may need a shorter option and want a taste of river cruising, and/or the Mississippi River ports. You can visit 18 ports in six states on a 23-day Mississippi River journey from New Orleans to St. Paul. These itineraries are offered by both American Cruise Lines and Viking, and are perfect for seniors with plenty of time to explore.

If you are into American presidential history and art, head to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, where you can see three original paintings of George Washington and his men crossing the Delaware River. But if your time is incredibly limited, then this may be a good option for you to get your feet wet with the possibility of taking a future Mississippi River Cruise beyond one day. For example, American Queen has an onboard theater where singers and bands play in the evenings. If any of this sounds unappealing, it’s best to book your Mississippi River cruise for spring or fall when the temperatures are cooler, storms are less likely to happen, and mosquitoes aren’t out with a vengeance.

This was an absolutely perfect two day cruise, and we are going again in Mid October as we loved it so much!!. This site focuses on small-format cruises and ship-within-a-ship concepts on large cruise ships, including special cruise experiences you can enjoy during your next vacation. Reasons why US river cruises cost more than a European river cruise, for instance, are because the ships have to be built in the United States and the crew has to be large American, which means their salaries are American dollars.

Carnival Sunshine Cabins & Staterooms on Cruise Critic

On those ships, reservable and anytime-dining will be combined into one dining room area, due to space constraints. The video does not confirm which cruise ship the guest was sailing on, but it is a Carnival Cruise Line vessel. While the date of the filming is unknown, one clue is found in the price of the 1.5-liter bottle.

Arrive a day early

Those looking for the largest cabins on any Carnival ship will want to look at their suite options. While options vary based on ship class, all include some perks that are meant to give you an enhanced cruising experience. The priority bookings for the other Cloud 9 Spa services only apply on day one – you can book for any point during the cruise, but once 6 pm hits on embarkation day those slots open up to all guests.

Request tables early for open-seating dining

Havana Interior cabins are available on Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Venezia, Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon and Carnival Panorama. And you also get one free evening of Night Owls babysitting at the kids club, which is great for when parents want a little bit of quiet time. Cloud 9 Spa Interior rooms are available on Excel Class, Vista Class, Dream Class and Sunshine Class ships. If you want to know what I mean, then read on to learn everything you need to know about Carnival’s Interior cabins. One of the best ways that you can save money on a cruise is by choosing an Inside or Interior room. Wherever on the ship you make your home base, good times aren't far.

For families traveling together, having the extra space of the extended balcony stateroom would be worthwhile.

When I booked my cruise, I had the choice of two twin beds or a king-size bed. My interior cabin was just 185 square feet, but from past experiences in an interior room, I knew it would be enough space. Carnival Radiance offers year-round itineraries from Long Beach ranging from three to six nights, with options to visit Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, and Catalina Island in California. Both times I've sailed on Radiance was a three-night sailing to Ensenada. Our inside cabin on Carnival Ecstasy cost $500 total for the 4-night sailing to Cozumel and back.

Carnival Celebration, which just debuted in November 2022, is the cruise line’s newest ship. We booked one of Carnival Celebrations inaugural sailings from North America, sailing from Miami to the Caribbean over the course of a 7-night itinerary. That said, given the complexity of booking a cruise — there are a lot of decisions to make during the booking process; trust us — we recommend you use a seasoned travel agent who specializes in cruises.

An obstructed view room on a Carnival cruise is one that has something blocking the view from the window or balcony of the room. It may be the lifeboats, or in the case of Interior cabins with a window, it may be the walkway around the edge of the ship. Upper/Lower rooms are small, but again this is a Carnival ship – you might not care if you’re spending all your time having fun. And the best thing about them is their low cost – you can get a really cheap cruise in one of these rooms – less than $350 per person for a week in the Caribbean. Still, some of that has begun to change with the debut of Carnival's new Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. Carnival went big with the suites on the groundbreaking, 5,282-passenger vessels — the biggest Carnival ships ever.

Don't miss the sea day brunch

Balcony cabins are what everyone wants these days, and Carnival is building its newest ships with far more of them than in the past. As noted above, about 44% of the cabins Carnival Panorama are balcony cabins. But that percentage jumped to 56% on the newer Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. It will be the same on Carnival Jubilee, a sister vessel to Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration coming out in December 2023.

Inside an $11,000-Per-Night Cruise Ship Suite

The vanity was also where the obligatory stateroom telephone was located, which is much appreciated compared to older ships that have the phones taking up precious real estate on the nightstand. Given how small an inside cabin already is, having the bunk beds suspend from the ceiling (only when being used) would open up the space more and allow for comfortably sitting on the beds. Comparatively, our inside cabin's bunk beds folded out from the wall, meaning the two bunk beds were always taking up space even if not actively being used. Having someone else onboard our Carnival Celebration afforded us the opportunity to see how their balcony stateroom compared to our inside cabin.

Along with the mirror, the vanities in both the inside stateroom and extended balcony cabin also featured drawers under the counter and exposed shelving for additional storage. The drawers in the extended balcony stateroom appeared to be bigger than the ones in our inside cabin. Our inside cabin on Carnival Celebration, nestled on Deck 4, was considered a standard inside stateroom with 160 square feet of space.

The social and value plans cost $18 and $23 per day, respectively, when bought onboard a ship. While the free programming ends at 10 p.m., you can pay extra to leave your kids at Camp Ocean until 1 a.m. During those hours, Camp Ocean transforms into a supervised slumber party-type environment with games, movies, crafts and snacks, along with late-night parties called Night Owls. On one of Carnival's newest ships, Carnival Panorama, there's no RedFrog Pub, but the Smokehouse Brewhouse has a stage that's home to live music nightly and some of the ship's karaoke sessions.

There are also large dispensers with generic shower gel and shampoo. Other bathroom amenities might include a shower cap, mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste and hand soaps. We appreciated Carnival's attention to detail in the bathroom, from the large shower to the tiling on the floor. Considering our last Carnival cruise had spongy, bumpy and blue flooring, this was a huge upgrade to see the modern design of the bathroom staterooms. We also noted the number of outlets and USB plugs available on the vanity, including 4 USB plugs and 3 additional 120 VT outlets.

This one's a must for the preschool set, but older kids might be too cool for Seuss school. Once per cruise, Carnival transforms a section of one of its main dining rooms into a Dr. Seuss-themed wonderland and invites families to dine on whimsical morning fare. However, if you left your phone in the cabin or your eyes can't take the small print, ask for a traditional paper menu. Bolt is Carnival's new roller coaster attraction found on Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. The thrill ride is tons of fun, but a maximum of four people can ride it at any one time. Reserve a spot as early as you can to make sure you get to try the attraction.
